Worldwide Surrogacy Specialists was honored to be a Silver Sponsor at the fourth annual San Francisco Surrogacy Conference last month. This conference had an impressive turnout, with prospective Intended Parents in attendance not only from California, but from across the United States, as far as the East Coast.
Bringing together community activists, medical & legal experts, parents, and surrogate mothers, this conference was centered around contemporary gestational surrogacy in the United States, featuring specialty panels on insurance, budgeting, legal, medical and psychological aspects of surrogacy.
This surrogacy conference provided WSS with a valuable opportunity to get in front of prospective Intended Parents to discuss how our agency can help them realize their dreams of starting a family. Through both public sessions and private consultations, I met with them to answer questions and address any concerns about the surrogacy process and their role within it.
One of the the most notable topics of conversation was in regards to the critical changes coming to the Affordable Health Care Act. We discussed these changes in detail, emphasizing the need for competent legal counsel and experienced surrogacy professionals to guide them through these surrogacy-related insurance matters.
In addition, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting with several lawyers from California whom I know from my membership in the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Attorneys, who were available to offer their legal expertise to the attendees as well.
I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to meet people face-to-face and make those important connections that are so critical to our agency. We hope to be a part of many more of these conferences in the future.
